| Hi fellow Dragons,
in my last article I have compared the contents of several newer and semi-older (plus one older) lockbox. Here I want to go into some more depth covering the contents of the two newest lockboxes (Glorious Resurgence and New Life).
As you will see, apart from that few and far between special epic and legendary items, the regular contents of the New Life box really are a leap forward in quality compared to GR and everything older. Let me start with listing once more what you can expect to get out of the two lockboxes:
 
What we see is a lot of common stuff (Kits / Packs) which I will view in greater detail later. Then there's some uncommons (1-10%) which are nice but not great. And then there's the really rare stuff (<1%). And there IMO the New Life Lockbox is a bit lackluster. The horn is okay but not great. Neither the stats nor the effect are so good that you will exchange a legendary or mythic arti for that one. The baby companions are augment companions with some equip bonus so if you don't have an augment pet yet (and want one) this is a good catch - once. After that you can at least sell it for 1.6mil AD (at the time I write this). On the other hand the epic mounts / companion packs or even the legendary pack of the GR box have a much higher wow-factor. Always wanted that rust-monster, pseudo-dragon, talking skull, nightmare or even Tenser's Floating Disk? They are all in there and also sell for significantly more than the baby companions if you decide to do so.
But unless you plan to open a thousand boxes, you probably won't see any of those rares anyway. So let's take a look at you will see:
 
GR box gives approx. 50% more blues and purples but NL makes up for that with a ton of green stones plus cubes of augmentation, which help you get your artifact weapons and offhand specced your way. Plus, at least with the lesser versions, you are more likely to get refinement stones than marks.
 
GR sports one SMOP or 1-2 GMOP, while NL gives one SMOP or GMOP plus MOP. AD-Wise it's the same at the current rate of 25MOP:1GMOP. Decide for yourself what you need more.
The other stuff gives a bit more distinction: GR will give a flawless sapphire or a black opal or 1-2 rank 7 enchants while NL yields black opal PLUS TWO flawless sapphires or 2 black opals or 2 rank 7 enchants (or something better, but the "something better" is again pretty much the same between both boxes).
